Dancerella was one of my favorite dolls. She was released in 1978 by Mattel. When you held her crown, pushing it up and down, she would spin and pirouette. She was 17" tall and dressed in her ballerina outfit and her ballet shoes.

I think she must have been released a bit earlier because I had her by the time I was 9 or 10 or so, and that was in 1973...there was also a littler one who wore blue...(that's the one I had). Or maybe that was "Dancerina"...
ReplyDeleteI LOOOOVED this doll! I played with her until she fell apart. Her hair got tangled around the spindle part in her crown, and her leg broke off. I kept it on by leaving her tights on. :)
