Lemon Twistby Chemtoy was released in 1975. Put the loop around your ankle, then skip in place while the plastic lemon at the end of the rope twirls in a circle.
I wore out 3 Lemon Twists in the early 80's. I still have one in storage that is mended with black electrical tape. I'm glad someone else remembers these too!
Man, the things that could amuse kids in the 70's! These were all the rage in my neighborhood when I was a kid and I couldn't wait to get one. The novelty wore of pretty quickly though, and I think the lemon fell off & I went back to regular jump rope.
they have something similar to a lemon twist but without the lemon at walmart called twister rave..i'm going get my daughter one tomorrow..hope she likes its as much as i used to like my lemon twist..
OK another craze I didn't just imagine! This was THE recess toy of choice at Louis Barrett Elementary . . .
