Boomerang plays this to death, running it almost every day, even though there's not enough episodes to warrant a daily schedule. It did, however, spawn 2 spinoffs, Dastardly & Muttley in Their Flying Machines and Perils of Penelope Pitstop, the following season.
ReplyDeleteIt created an anachronistic nightmare, to be sure. However, "Wacky" was reincarnated twice itself, if you can consider "Yogi's Space Race" (1978) and the Fender Bender 500 (from 1990's Wake, Rattle, & Roll---Yogi & pals vs. Dastardly & Muttley) derived from "Wacky".
I had TOTALLY forgot about this - but as it played and introduced each of the racers, I remembered them! And of course, we all loved Penelope Pit Stop!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing - so much fun!
man, I really loved this one. And I loved it for the cars
ReplyDelete... now someone tell me, that I was girly XD
