I was 8 years old in 1977. My family was dirt poor, we could barely afford food from the supermarkets, much less eat at McDonalds. Hunger was a constant companion. Oh, I occasionaly did somehow manage to eat at a McDonalds, but that was a very, VERY rare treat. These McDonalds comercials showing people buying and eating food at McDonalds were a distraction as it would cause me to hungrilly stare at the tv screen, wishing I could go to McDonalds as often. At the time I never found it believable that people could oh so casually go to McDonalds as often as they showed on these McDonalds commercials, as if they had the money to do so.
